西北大学传播学（Doctor of Philosophy in Communication Studies）设有以下研究方向：

• 修辞与公共文化（Rhetoric and Public Culture）
• 互动与社会影响（Interaction and Social Influence），简称ISI，已于2011年秋停止招生。

西北大学传播学系传播学PhD申请材料如下：

• 个人陈述：Statement of purpose(不超过5000字母)；
• 推荐信：Minimum of two letters of recommendation（至少两封，在线提交）；
• 成绩单：One scanned copy of your transcript from each university you have attended
• Writing Sample：学术性论文，15-20页为宜；
• GRE成绩单：Your official GRE scores sent by ETS to institution code 1565, the NU Graduate School.
• 托福：必须提供一年以内的托福成绩单，由ETS送分，分数要求100分，口语部分至少26分。

注意：

(1) 西北大学研究生院送分编号为：1565，申请者必须在提交申请前2个月，参加托福考试。

(2) 传播学博士奖学金申请条件：本科成绩单，托福成绩为100分。
